Universal Impex Corporation is one of Canada’s leading food. We are seeking a full-time Warehouse Manager. This position will apply effective principles of warehousing and transportation to ensure all finished product is appropriately maintained in order to guarantee delivery safe quality food to all customers. This position will also coordinate all shipping and receiving functions.
Manages the daily operations of the Warehouse Department.
Develop, implement and follow-up plans to accomplish departmental goals and objectives as per budget.
Supervise daily/weekly plans and activities for goods receipt, warehousing, traffic and orders dispatch according to Company standards and procedures. Assures the proper handling of goods on receipt, storage, loading and shipping at the optimum cost and in compliance with all local, domestic and international transportation regulations.
Prepares, monitors and communicate area objectives and metrics. Lead team activities to meet goals and key leverage indicators. Analyze performance data to identify variances using established systems and ad-hoc problem solving. Track trends to capture productivity improvements.
Visit warehouse areas to check on execution and performance and provide feedback as necessary. Ensures the warehouse is properly organized to meet regulatory standards.
Assures on time shipping activities performance to meet customer deadlines and company standards. Lead activities to optimize payload through configurations.
Maintain administrative paperwork current regarding schedules, inspections, inventories and management reports.
Recommend the hiring of personnel and overseeing special job training.
Keep employees informed on factors relating to their work assignment, work progress, and opportunity for advancement.
Evaluate, as deemed necessary by the company, the performance of new and existing employees.
Schedule vacation of the warehouse supervisors and employees.
Perform other duties as required.
Post-secondary diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain management or business administration or related discipline preferred
Minimum of five (5) years’ high volume, warehouse management experience, required
Proven track record of developing and maintaining department efficiencies; detailed knowledge of shipping, receiving and quality processes required
Continuous improvement experience including working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
Able to work in a team environment with individuals of all leadership styles, personalities, and career levels
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate keen attention to detail and task-related accuracy, as well as consistent follow-through skills
Excellent communication skills
SALARY: $35 – $44 per hour, 35 hours per week
