Rate of Pay: $21/hour

Position Status: Seasonal Contract, Full time

Terms: March – November 2020 (Fulltime, 5 shifts a week, must be flexible)

Opportunity for casual shifts November 2020 – January 2021

Reports To: Supervisor, Food Services

Nature & Scope

The Sous-Chef assists the Food Services Supervisor in leading the kitchen staff team in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals for up to 550 people per day while maintaining a well-organized and sanitary kitchen area.


  • Preparation and cooking for high volumes of guests ensuring meals are served on time
  • Following proper procedures for cooking and handling food
  • Safe preparation and cooking for guests with allergies and dietary restrictions
  • Maintaining an organized, clean kitchen
  • Making sure daily and weekly cleaning checklists are completed
  • Leading the kitchen team in the absence of the Food Services Supervisor
  • Assisting the Food Services Supervisor with scheduling, supply inventory, and supply orders
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C
  • WHIMIS Certification an asset
  • Food Safe level 1
  • Significant experience working in a kitchen, preferably a camp environment
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organization skills
  • Strong knowledge of allergies and dietary restriction safety and management
  • Ability to stand for a long period of time and lift up to 50 pounds
