The Seabee Gold Operation is an underground gold mining and milling operation, located near Laonil Lake, Saskatchewan, Canada, approximately 125 kilometers northeast of the town of La Ronge. The Santoy underground mine has been in continuous commercial production since 2014. Commercial production at the Seabee underground mine commenced in 1991 and exhausted Mineral Resources in 2018. All ore is processed at the Seabee mill facility, which has been in operation since 1991.


This position has a schedule of 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off. You will be required to fly in fly out with pick up points in Saskatoon, Prince Albert & La Ronge.

As the Kitchen Helper (Temporary) you will be working with other kitchen and housekeeping staff to ensure all kitchen dishware/cutlery/pots and pans are consistently in a ready state of cleanliness and available as required when used to prepare camp meals.


KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY & DUTIES

Start of Shift:

  • Check fruit and sandwich fridge (fill if you need)
  • Check juices, coffee and milk (fill if needed)
  • Wipe tables
  • Check dishes from tray rack and keep up with them

After Breakfast:

  • Clean inserts and dishes from the breakfast line
  • Put away bread and clean toaster area
  • Check cereals and refill if necessary as well as wipe all tables
  • Sweep floors
  • Mop floors Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday
  • Mop floors any other day of necessary
  • Assist with putting away groceries

Lunch:

  • Washes Dishes (pots, pans etc – from steamtable and put away)
  • Sweep and mop dish area
  • Take out garbage

3:30pm

  • Check milks, juices and coffee, fruit, sandwich fridge and refill if necessary
  • Wipe tables
  • Wash any dishes, pots or pans as they accumulate

7:30pm

  • Wash inserts from steam line and any other dishes that has accumulated
  • Clean dish washer area
  • Drain dishwasher and remove trap from machine and clean thoroughly
  • Sweep and mop dish area
  • Take out garbage
  • Make sure Dining Room shelves are stocked at all times (sauces, napkins, and other condiments)
  • Clean and refill all condiments on tables once a week (change if necessary)
  • Clean out and refill juice machine once a week

Shift End Cleaning:

  • Overheads: take down filters and soak clean them than put through the dishwasher
  • Clean all fronts of stoves, deep fryer and convection oven
  • Remove baking pans from the top of the convection oven and clean the top of the oven
  • Clean trollies, and clean the dish cart
  • Clean dish tray racks
  • Clean underneath dishwasher shelves
  • Clean dish area, garbage cans steam table, and area around it
  • Assist chef with ordering of cereals, condiments, juices and sauces
  • At the end of each night drain the dish machine, take out trays and basket than clean them
  • Rinse down sinks and surrounding dish shelves

Required Experience

The successful candidate will have completed Grade 12 or equivalent, and have previous related experience. Line or banquet cooking experience will be considered and asset.

In addition, the successful candidate must demonstrate strong leadership, communication and problem solving skills and a positive and proactive attitude towards safety is essential.
