Keewaytinook Okimakanak Board of Education
Keewaywin Education Authority is currently seeking two dynamic Elementary Classroom Teachers: for a split 1-2 grade classroom; a split 7-8 grade classroom.
o Must have a minimum of a Bachelor of Education degree with preferably 3 years of teaching experience and hold a valid Ontario College of Teachers certification;
o Must have experience with Classroom Management techniques, balanced literacy and current numeracy experience for a primary/intermediate classroom;
o Experience teaching in a First Nation school is an asset;
o Must be willing to plan for, and participate in land-based teaching opportunities;
o Excellent verbal, written and communication skills;
o Must be proficient with the use of computers, relevant educational software;
o Be able to provide a clean Criminal Reference Check (CRC) and a clean Vulnerable Sector (VS) Check, including Pardoned Sex Offender Database (PSOD).
Salary is dependent on verified education and experience. The KEA also provides travel allowance and generous benefits. The candidate must be able to live in a remote northern fly-in location, and possibly share housing with other staff.
